Overview

The VP, Construction and Real Estate will provide guidance on strategic direction, policy, and overall Corporate Club system growth. In this role, you will lead and direct teams in the achievement of strategic objectives and initiatives relating to real estate, lease administration, design, and construction.  As our VP, Construction and Real Estate, you will be responsible for assessing development infrastructure while ensuring scalability and optimization of current processes. You will be essential in providing a strong focus on implementing and executing upon cross-functional initiatives that drive club growth and improve performance and profitability of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support teams in the Development Department: Real Estate, Construction, Design, and Lease Administration.
    • Lead the Construction Team in their mission to support cost-efficient and impactful Corporate Club construction projects and ensure that all clubs are built consistently with the PF brand standard.
    • Lead the Design Team in their mission to constantly improve and refine club design, approve new club layouts, expansion layouts, club facades & exterior signage.
    • Partner with HQ development/construction teams to share best practices and ensure consistency with franchised clubs.
    • Lead entire Development Team in the cross-team evolution of PF clubs designed to drive member acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
      • Work with all teams to approve and manage outside vendors including architects, general contractors, and material vendors.
  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to:
    • Build consensus and alignment on market-specific development budgets, forecasts, goals, and objectives.
    • Oversee financial objectives and forecasting. Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to improve results and profitability.
    • Provide strategic guidance regarding large-scale planning and development and consult with key stakeholders to align department plans with company strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to oversee strategic operations and execution of all phases of the club development process and maximize the business workflow by improving program efficiency from site selection to club opening.
  • Partner with financial leadership to develop and execute on capital initiatives related to development (i.e., budgeting, financing).
  • Champion efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures and implement a long-term sustainability strategy that includes efficient energy and materials utilization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction, or related field
  • 12+ years of successful development experience in the multi-unit industry
    • 8+ years of proven experience developing and leading teams
    • Franchise development experience is a plus
  • Broad experience in areas of strategic site development, construction, architecture/design, facilities management, and finance
  • Experience overseeing operational improvements that drive increased profitability, greater operational effectiveness, and efficiency, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Solid strategic expertise with a demonstrated ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the business and identify areas of improvement
  • Proven success supporting sophisticated multi-unit businesses
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong financial acumen, focused on achieving financial results. Demonstrated knowledge of cash flow metrics and ROI. Demonstrated ability to understand how to leverage the components of the P&L to drive revenue
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to evaluate current systems and processes and implement “best in class” practices
  • Solid negotiation skills with a high capacity for managing complexity
  • Excellent project, planning and time management skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executives
  • Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
