Overview

The Internal Communications Intern will support the planning, creation and distribution of company communications that help keep employees, franchisees and club teams informed, engaged and connected. This role offers hands-on experience in internal and executive communications as well as event support.

 

The intern will play a key role in producing newsletters and supporting quarterly town hall meetings while gaining exposure to a variety of communications projects across the organization.

 

This internship is based at our Hampton, NH office and requires regular, in-person work. The expected schedule is part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week, with specific workdays and hours to be coordinated based on business needs and the intern’s availability. The hourly rate for this position is $20/hour. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the Hampton, NH office, as fully remote work is not available for this role.

 

Responsibilities

Newsletter & Email Communications

  • Support the creation, editing and distribution of weekly and monthly newsletters for employees, franchisees and club teams.
  • Build and schedule communications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Coordinate with content contributors to gather updates and supporting materials.
  • Review content for clarity, consistency and formatting.
  • Monitor and report on newsletter performance metrics, including open rates and engagement trends.
  • Help maintain editorial calendars and communication schedules.

Town Hall & Event Communications Support

  • Assist with planning and execution of quarterly employee and franchisee town hall meetings.
  • Help develop agendas and coordinate content submissions from presenters.
  • Create, edit and format PowerPoint presentations and supporting materials.
  • Support live town hall execution, including audience engagement and Q&A management.
  • Help coordinate post-event communications, recaps and Q&A follow-up materials.

Additional Communications Projects

  • Support special communications initiatives and campaigns as needed.
  • Assist with drafting articles, announcements, leadership messages and other communication materials.
  • Conduct research and gather information for communication projects.
  • Help maintain communication resources, templates and content libraries.
  • Provide general project management and administrative support for the Internal Communications team.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or completion of a bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Helpful But Not Required

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a similar email marketing platform.
  • Experience writing for school publications, student organizations, internships or other communications-related activities.
  • Familiarity with content management, marketing or communications tools.
